The Adam’s Tragedy

To be an Adam,

Alone, dark and bare

Miles to the next,

But only a collision away

Just another Adam

Nothing in between

Yet constantly repelling

Is all there is

There are two sides

To every Adam

One we see

Another we do not

Innocent and inert

Turns chaotic death incarnate

Some see them as one

Some know them as others

These polar opposites

Long to split

For they quarrel

Sowing confusion in their wake.

Without the knowledge

Of themselves,

They remain frozen

Tethered to their own malaise

Oh to be an Adam,

Forever apart

But stuck to themselves,

One’s desolate end

With a weighted stone

Chained to their ankles

In factories

Of their own fabricated trend

Oh to be an Adam,

The promise of warmth and friendship,

Perverted for a bruised ego

Over words one of their victims had said.

A chance stolen is a chance thrown away

They know… Trust us they know…

The repercussion will be all that rings

As their soul, by choice,  hurtles into oblivion
